Big Boy/Fleury Singler Struggle With the Lanes Against The Chuckwads:
Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 12:41PM February 2 was an interesting night at the bowling alley for every team involved. With the oil machine still somewhat broken, the oil down was very sketchy and the scores showed that. What made things worse for Big Boy/Fleury Singler was that they were giving up 147 handicap pins to The Chuckwads- pins that they would find very tough to make up.
In Game One, Dave Stevenson tried to lead Big Boy/Fleury Singler while only managing a 155. Jen Kinney’s 157 was too much to overcome however as BB/FS lost Game One 945 – 1015. Game Two saw both teams improve their scores a little, but Keith Dickson’s high score of the game (149) wasn’t enough to top The Chuckwads as they lost 971 – 1061. Not wanting to be swept, BB/FS really pushed hard to win the last game. Steve Whelan led the way with a 171, but yet again it was not enough as they lost Game Three 983 – 1171 and the overall match 2899 – 3197. After the match, Dave Stevenson could only say, “The oil or lack thereof tonight made things very difficult for pretty much everyone. And pretty much any team that was giving up a lot of handicap pins was going to have a tough time making them up tonight!” Losing all 7 points, Big Boy/Fleury Singler’s record dropped to 15 – 20. Should the oil machine be fixed, Big Boy/Fleury Singler will take on first-half champs Holiday Inn next week.
